There are a lot of people out there on the net. Some of them are called Dollinger. Yes, I'm not the only one. Here is a small collection. Note: Most information here is quite old. In the beginning I used search engines (long before google) to find Dollingers on the net. This is no longer possible (too many hits). Now I will only make changes if I'm informed by E-mail or randomly stumple upon an information.

Myself I'm coming from Biberach a town (~30000 inhabitants) between the lake of constance (Bodensee) and the river danube (Donau). My ancestors were there for more than 20 generations. At about 1550 they came from Bavaria. The name Dollinger is said to be originated by a small village called Dolling. Most probably this village ist now called Oberdolling which also has a part Unterdolling. In Oberdolling there is also a castle which may be the home of the knight Hans Dollinger.

An other theory states that there was a mountain "Die Dolling" near Wuermlach (Austria, see above) with silver mines.

Some more theories provided by Thomas Dollinger (in german).

This is our coat of arms (with me in earlyer times above).
